Duramax ticking noise.

I know it’s an old thread, but the L5P in the 2020 is the noisiest, most unpleasant Duramax to date. The thumping, ticking, screeching, and what I’m assuming is injector knock, is almost Unbearable. Been in 3 different 2020’s and besides when mine melted down a dpf, I’ve yet to hear a quieter Dmax from factory.The ticking noise could be that you are snesative to the ticking noise that Duramax engines make, some more than others. Some people do find different brand oil seems to quieten the noise some but experimentation is key for some because not all oils act the same in all engines.. I have a knocking noise upon deceleration on my 2017 duramax Silverado.. It happens between 1600-1100 rpm. As I decelerate between this range, it will start to knock at around 1600 then go away at around 1500 then start again around 1400 and stop at around 1200 and a third time at 1100. lb7s are notorious for making ticking noises, it has to do with the tolerance in the engine. The proper repair for that is to replace all of the high presure fuel side and flush the low pressure side. A failure of the hpfp sends tiny little metal bits into the fuel injectors damaging them. I have a video of it, not sure how to post it on this forum. But it is an irregular noise that does increase repitition with RPM but does not imitate RPM at idle.
